It all started in 1877 when sea captain Helly Juell Hansen found a better way to stay protected from the harsh Norwegian elements. Soon thereafter, Captain Hansen and his wife Margrethe launched a business producing waterproof oilskin jackets, trousers, sou’westers and tarpaulins made from coarse linen soaked in linseed oil – and the legend was born!

It looks great, fits well, is very warm, and obviously waterproof. Usually, his phone will die quickly when he goes skiing out west because of the cold, but he was able to keep it in the insulated pocket and the battery stayed full all day. Great purchase, he’s very happy with it.Love my new Helly Hansen Jacket! Lots of pockets. I did have to get 1 size larger as the jacket did fit snug.Buttons of the inside skirt fell off and I couldn’t put them back. I returned the product two months ago but didn’t get a refund. It is unacceptable for a clothing product! I will file a complaint if I don’t get a refund!
