I like the way they look and feel , need couple a days to break in .Great deal.I was tracking these boots for months and finally pulled the trigger knowing that inventory for my size was quickly selling out. Size 8 from seller 6pm arrived much earlier than expected. Box, packaging and shoes were in brand new condition. Untouched and unworn. The Chukka fits true to size unlike the oxford Madson I purchased last year for the same amount. The oxford version broke in very quickly and barely lasted the year. The chukka's have the same bottom outsole and construction so I'm not expecting this pair to last beyond a year. They're worth $68 but definitely not the MSRP $170. The waterproofing on the oxfords lasted only a few months so I don't expect to get a year's worth of waterproofing like some of the other reviewers reported. The chukka outsole rubber appears to be an oxford match and the one flaw I noticed was that they're slicker than snot on a marbled wet surface. Sorel needs to go to a sticky rubber compound to improve traction. The silhouette is really spot on and none better but so was the oxford for a few months. Thereafter is was a race to trash heap as the wheels started falling off from upper to bottom. At $170 you're paying for Chinese labor not Chinese quality. Lower your expectations and you'll be happy with this purchase.I love these shoes (these are not real boots). They are made of very high quality leather. Are super comfortable after breaking them in.Before buying these shoes I would go through shoes within a few months because they would be falling apart or just simply worn out. I am just plain and simply hard on shoes. I work in a hospital and do quite a bit of walking and wear the same pair of shoes for 12 hours a day 5 days a week. These have held up very well long after my previous shoes would have been worn out.I also love how these shoes look I am very picky about what shoes I wear and these fit the bill. There are numerous good looking casual dressy shoes but its extremely hard to find them that aren't going to fall apart in 2 months of regular use. These fit both of my requirements of Nice looking while also looking great and feeling great. If your looking at these shoes buy them you won't regret it. They aren't the cheapest on the market but you get what you pay for. Great quality, Great looking, Feel great on your feet. I will definitely be buying another pair after these wear out(which will be a long time from now).Really love these shoes (Madson) even though they are slightly darker than the picture shows. 4 star review is due to a few minor issues. I expected them to be perfect condition shoes since I had pay more due to my big feet (stupid 3rd party sellers).PROS:-Comfortable-Fit as expected (my feet are narrow except near my toes, and these shoes are about the same)-Look great-Seem durable (hopefully)CONS:-Arrived somewhat scratched (mine were from a 3rd party seller)-Not the exact color (pretty close though)-Don’t like the shoe strings (how they look)-not super breathable (but fine unless it’s really hot)When I read reviews, I saw some saying they were too narrow, and I don’t really see it. Maybe if your feet are wider at the heel or in the middle of your foot. Most of my cons are minor and I really like these shoes. If they are not durable I will update. So confortableSo I’ve got the boots and I love them already. They’re super comfortable out of the box and look great. But choosing a size was a bit of a nightmare because every review seems to contradict another! So I made a gamble and went with the CM measurement and got lucky, so for anyone who’s unsure about the sizing, here’s some info: I got a size 10us/43euro/28cm in this Sorel. I always default to a 44 euro because it seems to be the most consistent sizing but this time, given the “too large”, “size down!” vs “fits true”, “always wear a 9, got a 9” reviews, I measured my foot and it seems the 10us is the right size for me. So the euro sizing is out a whole size compared to Nike AF1s for example. I wear a 10us/44euro/28cm in Nike, and a 10us/43euro/28cm in Sorel. Go figure... tldr: The US sizing is true after all.very cool hiking boot to wear for casual look, comfy but be careful with it. Don't wear on rainy days, will easily stain.Leaks after 2yrs—wet feet ain’t fun!Ordered a pair of size 14 (UK) initially, because I have encountered (primarily) width problem with some size 13s in other makes previously. They were far too large. I then ordered a pair of 13s (UK) and they fitted perfectly - well wide enough. Very comfortable and appear to be very well made. Looking forward to a few wiles in these. Would not hesitate to recommend. Give 'em a go!Nice looking shoe but not suitable for serious hikes. I bought these with the intention of using them for hiking in north Scotland. 1st day they held up ok and kept my feet mostly dry. 2nd day the waterproofing broke down and my feet were wet after about 30 mins of walking. Borrowed boots from a mate instead of wearing these for a 3rd day.The waterproofing went even after i applied Snoseal and heated them as instructed.Given this was extremely wet conditions with 3-6cm of water pooling around my boot after every step.Nice boot, good fit and comfortable. One review I read said good grip on ice. I haven't tried them on ice yet but they are not great in wet. First outing in the wet I slipped on my own door step. They slip on any wet surface that isn't rough. For comparison my ordinary rubber soled shoes don't slip on the same surfaces.Edit - upped one star because weeks later I really like wearing them despite the grip.I pretty much live in my chukka’s and can go through a pair every 8-12 months; which is fine if you’re paying £30-45.The Sorel is a great option if you’ve got the money. They’ll last longer than 12 months, have a great sole (plenty of grip) and they’re incredibly well made and comfy. If you’re 50:50 my recommendation would be; treat yourself you won’t be disappointed.A good fit, comfy and look nice.
